A word about AlmaNova from Las Vegas

The review below was published in "City Life", a Las Vegas publication for the arts....our concert was one of their "picks" :)

ps....we also want to thank one of our fans, Mitzi. She heard us perform in Ventura County and recommended us to the World Vibrations Concert series in Las Vegas. Because of her kind words and raving reviews, they invited us to perform for the series. We love our fans and can't thank them enough for supporting us and our music THANK YOU, MITZI!!!!!!

AlmaNova
[GET YOUR FACE MELTED, ACOUSTICALLY] FRIDAY, NOV. 18

"AlmaNova is the kind of music your Northern Californian brother-in-law with the graying ponytail listens to while he's stomping grapes to make his own wine. Bosnian guitarist/composer Almer Imamovic and American flautist Jessica Pierce play finger board/key-burning riffs that would send lesser musicians into early and painful bouts of tendonitis (perfect tempo for jumping on fruit), but with the romantic sophistication of being unpercussive and solely based on wind and string instruments (because making wine is classy). It's the kind of music you'd probably hear between breaks during State of Nevada on KNPR. And you should hear it this weekend at the Winchester Cultural center, because AlmaNova might make some of the most interesting, complicated and flat-out beautiful music we've ever heard come out of a guitar/flute duo. You don't even need a graying ponytail to get in."

--Max Plenke.

Thanks, Max!

Paris!

Dear Friends,

We are back from some great concerts in Europe. Our first stop was Paris....the city where we met 12 years ago! We had a great trip down memory lane...enjoyed the cafes, the metro and of course La Tour Eiffel! We also stopped by the great La Guitarreria to meet with Fred and the gang. Almer tried some fabulous guitars by European makers. Our next stop was the famed Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris...where we both studied. We heard a great concert chez Maestro Rafael Andia, Almer's guitar professor from his days at ENMP. But the highlight of the trip was a fun performance we did along with fellow musician and friend, Arnovo! It was great to see some old friends and make new ones!

More to come about our great European Adventure!!!........

Almer and Nirvan in LMP Studios!

We have an exciting new project to share with you. Almer is currently working on a new album with good friend and exceptional musician, Nirvan. The album features new arrangements of the greatest sevadlinka with some great orginals by Almer and Nirvan. It is mostly just two guitars and voice but we have a few guest artists that bring another level of musicianship to this projects:

Nivan: Vocals and guitar
Almer: Guitar and bass
Bob Dominguez: Drums and percussion
Lauren Baba: Violin
Jessica Pierce: Flute

...and hopefully a few more instrumentalists will be added to this great mix :)

Recording/Mixing/Mastering by the one and only Jim Linahon at LMP Studios!!!!

Included are some photos from the sessions last week!

The release of this CD is planned for early September....with concerts in LA and Sarajevo!
