STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: White Noise amazing student Rock Band from Sierra Madre Music

This month, we would like to shine a light on one of our premier Rock Bands! White Noise (formerly known as "Tuesday Nights") has been a musical powerhouse here at Sierra Madre Music. Each member (Sam, Blake, Eddie and Stephanie) are consummate musicians in their own right but together are truly something special! They are more than just an amazing cover band...they even create their own unique an innovative mash-ups! They play and entertain like pros! They have been featured in various venues around the LA area including Peppertree Grill, Sierra Madre ArtsFest, SMCP Carnival, and the Sierra Madre Summer Music in the Park series

They are coached by our wonderful new faculty member, Till Richter. Till's expertise and musicianship is bringing this already stellar group to new heights! Check them out at the end of March where all our bands will be performing at PepperTree! more info follow....

Tips from our Teachers #1: James and Ethan "Two easy tips for music practice!"

Visit from Billy of LACG....AlmaNova's favorite guitar shop!!!

For those of you who are not familiar with the amazing shop, Los Angeles Classical Guitars, we thought we'd introduce you to what they have to offer.  It is a classical guitar haven with everything one would need!  At the head of the operation is Billy Arcila, a great guy and friend of many years who is extremely knowledgeable about all things guitar.  He recently remodeled his guitar showroom where he houses some of the finest spanish classical guitars out there.  If you are in the market for a great classical guitar, don't forget to check out what LACG has in stock....you won't be disappointed!

Sierra Madre Music 4th of July Parade!

Enjoy these great shots from our participation in the Sierra Madre 4th of July Parade!  Our Sierra Madre Music float feature our star Rock Band, Tuesday Nights...who performed like pros, made us all proud, and stole the show!  What a fun event!  See you again next year!!!!!!

Sierra Madre Music Spring Recital 2014

A big CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Sierra Madre Music superstar young musicians who performed at our Spring 2014 Student Recital!  We are all so proud of all you've accomplished since the last recital in December!  Keep up the great work and keep practicing!!!!

Almer and Microtech Gefell microphones

I recently played a few recording sessions using M221 and M300 Microtech Gefell mics.
They sound amazing and I was so impressed with the warm, rich tone they captured from my Martin OM Custom and Kenny Hill Stand-Up Signature.

When using these mics in pairs they have an exceptional depth and transparency.  I have been looking for this particular sound and am thrilled to have finally found it!  Since I'm playing all different styles and guitars, I need something that is able to capture my varying attacks on strings, different tone colors and strumming styles.

I'm very happy to have the chance to use them and they will be my preferred mics from now on!
